TuttoAlberobello

When to go

Spring and early autumn are ideal. But every season has something: the sea in summer, new olive oil in autumn, the lights at Christmas.

The seasons

The climate is Mediterranean, but Alberobello sits on a plateau: evenings are cooler than on the coast.

Spring (April – June)

Mild weather and green countryside: the best time for walking and touring the valley. Easter and spring bank holidays get busy.

Summer (July – August)

Hot and busy, but the sea is half an hour away. See the trulli early in the morning or in the evening, when it's cooler and quieter.

Autumn (September – November)

September still feels like summer, with warm sea. Then comes the grape harvest and, from late October, olive picking and new oil.

Winter (December – March)

Cool and quiet, with few tourists. In December the town lights up for the holidays and gets busy again, especially at weekends.

The year's events

Two times when the town is packed: book early.

Patron saints and Christmas

In late September the feast of the Holy Physicians, and from late November to Epiphany Christmas among the trulli, with the light festival and the living nativity. The full calendar, including nearby festivals, is on the Festivals and events page.
