Four useful things before you sit down to eat.

Meal times

Lunch is served roughly 12:30 to 2:30 pm, dinner from 7:30-8 pm onwards. Many kitchens close in the afternoon, and many places have a weekly closing day.

Book for dinner

In summer, at weekends and in December the places in the centre fill up: for dinner, call ahead on the day or earlier.

The cover charge

Many restaurants add a 'coperto', a small per-person charge for bread and service. It's normal and must be shown on the menu. Tipping is not expected.

Fornelli pronti

An Itria Valley tradition: choose your meat at the butcher's counter (bombette, sausage, capocollo) and they grill it on the spot. You'll find them below, under grills.
